Who’s involved in running this business? Only me and the supplier.
You only need to know how to make advertising (i used TikTok and facebook/instagram) or you can pay someone to do it for you. Than I'll give you the contact of my supplier who has thousands of products for unlimited quantities, so you don't need to make stock paying before.. and that's a unique characteristic, great for cashflow.
I can also give you 3 guides and strategies for facebook, instagram, tiktok and google ads if you need.
You can easly copy my theme (a custom premium theme modified by coding) and use them with other products from the same supplier.
Talking about everyday operations, I only run ads. the supplier will do the fullfillment for you. The site is directly linked to the supplier platform and so his company can ship everyday and contact customers in case of problems with address and so on. So basically I spent like 7 hours per week doing these operations. Perfect for a secondary job or if you want to spend more time and money on it, you'll earn a lot in terms of revenue and new customers.
Customers
Customers are Italian because I targeted only this county but you can easly sell the product to Europe or US if you prefer.
I have 3721 clients, 1275 of these are subscribed to the mailing list. (I can tell you how to run email/sms marketing also to not subscribers)
Financials
I know this is the most important section, so I'll try to be very clear and transparent.
The total revenue is 112.082,35 € (already removed refunds).
Expenses
Talking about expenses, you can find attachments with clear ads expenses for every month. Here I'll write the total expenses for product, shipping and ads.
To be 100% clear and honest these are what I pay to supplier:
1 Smoobie + shipping costs 12,32 € and I sell it for 34,99 €
1 Blingie + shipping costs 13,82 € and I sell it for 34,99 €
1 Dybie + shipping costs 18,82 € and I sell it for 49,99 €
So the total amount spent for product and shipping is: 40079 €
Total amount spent on ads is: 18005,32 €
Then you have about 100/120 €/month for premium apps I used on the site
And 0.50€ per customer in order to confirm address by call (a premium service you not really need, I used because I accept COD payments in Italy)
So total expenses are about 60000 €.
Prices of products + shipping is cheaper if you sell in US and EU using my supplier. Italy costs more because of COD payment.
Please notice that I used a 3rd parties checkout that's why on Shopify integration it doesn't count all the sales. I used stripe + COD payments but you can easily use Shopify Payments if you prefer.
Additional Notes
I suggest you to run this store in USA (bigger market in the word) and EU countries using fb + google + tiktok.
The store is in Italian but can be translated in English or other languages in order to sell everywhere.
The sale includes TikTok and instagram accounts. On TikTok I have 6000 ORGANIC followers and videos up to 2 million views.
As I said before, I want to be as transparent as possible, so I'm going to tell why have I decided to sell my business:
I'm Marco, a medical student from Italy. I started doing online business 2 years ago to build a secondary income. Now I'm approcing my last year of medical studies where I have to be fisically all day at hospital doing intership, so I have less time.
I already have 3 brands here in Italy and this store was the last opened in May 2022.
